Thread needs a title change anyway...congrats Zap :finger:

How does it compare to the F6?

I do love all the tech in this car.

Good to see another nerd impressed! It seems they have put sh*tloads of thought in to these things...refreshing change after the last two models/series.

And how cool is the walking man??? :finger:

yep, I was wondering what people were referring to when it cam to the walking man.

Took a mate for a bit of a run on my private road up to 150 from a standing start.

Once it hits 4,000rpm all hell breaks loose. It is like the turbo kicks in. I think it would be a bit faster than the old F6, but it handles better with a sharp turn in and tighter feel, as it is so new.

They have also played with the ZF in the FG as it blips the throttle between gearchanges on WOT and under hard breaking. It also bangs into gears in perf mode a lot harder than my BF ever did.

It feels like the line pressure is significantly increased when you slide the shifter left. I have only done about 100km on it so far averaging 29lt/100km :finger:

Yeah - ZF is definitely a hell of a lot sharper.

The spark-cut on gear change is on anything over 75% (I think) throttle...certainly does the trick.

I thought it was the DSC kicking in as it makes a barking noice.

I also learn that there is a auto dip on reverse on my car. Thanks to Pat mentioning it in another thread.

It makes the turbo six sound tough so I'm sure it'd be awesome in an eight. :msm:

Don't be alarmed if the climate control, audio, lighting & locking settings are all different when you use the second key too...they are all on the memory with the seat and mirrors. Thought mine must have had a gremlin in it before I realised what was going on!

He's a bit of a celebrity in our house too, the walking man. The kids love him!

Yeah the mirror dip is a favourite of mine too, as is (surprisingly) the rear camera. I never really thought that much of it until I had to reverse the mrs Escape and I was like what, I need to actually turn around??!!
