I just cant get used to the look of the FG. The F6 and T are ok I guess but the the huge bonnet bulgy thing the 8's have got going ok just look wrong.

Im sure its an awesome car, but not my cup of tea. In the end it was the look alone that led me back to Holden. The VE even 2 years on still looks sharp and fresh mayb in a couple of years ill see the FG the same way.

So any mods planned? Weather it be Expensive Daewoo or Ford the 8's are quite tame compared to a modded turbo 6 until you start throwing a big cam or some boost... I know what I have planned :)

The FG is more an evolution of the B series than an evolution. I guess Ford were a little more conservatave when it came to the look of the new model. I like the fact that it is not massivly different to the B series as I liked the style of the B series.

I looked at the range of HSV and must admit they are a great looking car, but that was where it stopped. I figure I am inside the car and drivign the car more than looking at it. One of my clients is a HSV dealer, so I was seriously wanting to do business with them, but it wasn't to be.

The interior in the VE feels low rent and low tech. The lack of ICC features and intergration like iPod put me off. I also thought the HSV 6sp gearbox (auto) was like driving the old ION 4 speed, slow in the shifts and a real slushbox

I felt like I was in a AU falcon, when sitting in the VE when it came to the interior feel.

Being in the IT industry, I like TECH, so the FG ticked all the boxes, where the HSV was noticably limited in the tech.

While a HSV with its 900lt pushrod boat anchor, may be faster, it lacks quadcams and an exhaust note that can give chicks a hardon

The only mods I am planning to do are:

LED the interior lighting and parker/foglights

HID the headlights

tinting

boot liner and headlight protectors

buy an iPod that works with the car, as mine is too old.

That should do it. I might save up for a Keene Bell supercharger if I keep the car longer than 3 years, but I generally do not mod the motors of my cars as I need to keep the warranty intact.

The only things I think they should have done with the FG is:

LED Tail lights

HID headlights

Locking fuel cap, I mean WTF were they thinking when they came up witht he idea of not having a secure fuel cap.

oh and a factory supercharger would have been nice.

I asked the wife if we could out for dinner in Gosford (100km away) as I wanted the drive.

Totally agree and totally disagree...

Gearbox is definitely a POS.

Beige roof in a 'Sports' model exactly the same as a POV pack off the same line...and a dash like the ass end of a pug...I mean come on.. :stupid:
