That will be a sweet ride.

After reading June 08's Wheels review of the new GT engine and the Dyno test Vs the GTS - it outperformed the LS3 in power, torque, heat stability and consistently gave better figures.

They have got alot right with this engine. It may not give you whiplash like an F6, but with plenty of power and torque for touring it is one hell of a unit - not to mention the sound.

I think I'll be looking at one next time round.

Have fun!

It might have been the the Dyno queen , but couldn't match it on the road.

GTE with a blower or I would buy a Holden, no question

I looked at all the HSV's and they seem like a 5 year old interior and do not have a quadcam v8, but a 50 year old pushrod boat anchor. It is Just lacking the Tech of the FG and the feel of some organisation and luxury.

The SC may happen one day, but I do not see the point of having over 350rwkw on the street.

But, Zap an HSV will smoke an FPV V8 10/10. owned sorry. If looks are important go for it.

HSV have the better performing v8 end.Track times just make it embarrasing.1/4 or circuit !

NB. Just want you to R&D the blower set up :bye: I know., I know, you have already answered that.

lol, I do not care about how fast they are.

If I wanted to smoke a HSV, I would have got the F6.

I doubt this car will ever see a track outside of the FPV driver day.

I guess I am an old 38 now wanting a luxo barge cruiser, but it suits my desires.

From reading car mags and forums when I can the evidence seems to suggest that the difference between HSV and FPV V8 performance largely goes away once the FPV V8 has had some time to open up. It seems they start out comparatively low on power through the revs but pick it up after some k's on the clock.

Autocar NZ did a comparison a few months ago, might have been just a XR8, but it was one that had been around a bit and it actually beat the Expensive Daewoo equivalent (R8?) by .2 secs 0 to 100 I think (going on memory here).

Of course still gets blown away by the phoon ;-)
