Taking it to ford tomorrow due to warranty running out in 4 days. Would this be covered by fords warranty? Also, I only realy noticed this after I flash tuned it.Will post again to give feedback from ford.CheersUmm, I'm pretty sure if you've flashed tuned it your warranty is worth squat dude... Also was it a Custom Tune or was it a Generic? There are several threads on this forum about Generic tunes destroying motors...

Worth a check.Try and isolate the noise under the bonnet while someone else raises the revs.

Worth a check.Try and isolate the noise under the bonnet while someone else raises the revs.I have a ticking noise as well that is low rpm when idle but he rate of ticking seems to speed up as I press down on the accelator. Does this sound like it could be the idler pulley? Is it a common issue with Falcon's? Also, is it serious?I've had mine since June now and thinking of taking it into HPF or Nizpro for a service (being about 6 months ownership and not had my first service yet as a new owner) soon. It's only done about 3000km since I got it - but I don't really know the car's history. Edited 26/10/09 11:32 AM by EvilDaifu

It sounds like something hitting a fan when the turbo starts spooling? More so when shes cold, and only whilst driving. (No strange noises in my garge with the bonnet up) I still have boost but I don't wanna push it till I know it's not doing more damage. I've just spent over 3k on my box an I'm prayin till ain't an expensive problem. I was told I need to replace my engine mounts soon, but I don't think that's related. Any I ideas would be appreciated guys. Peteos

When they come loose it causes a loud ticking noise as air is escaping before it goes through the turbo. Had the same problem which was worse under load or when cold. Caused engine light to come on. 2 bolts on my manifold were missing. When I got this fixed the noise was gone, engine light cleared and marked power improvement. Hope this helps you

Just to close it off - it was my idle pulley. Had it replaced and all good - no ticking noise
