I reckon what might be happening is due to a massive vaccum leak the engine is picking up revs and the turbo is starting to make some boost. It will be running like crap because it will be leaning right out.Just my thoughts anyway. Guest Guests Posted 16/02/09 06:44 AM Share Posted 16/02/09 06:44 AM Could be the fuel filter & just sh*tty stock BA brakes Seriously though, vaccy leak sounds like a good call. A fuel pump is either good or frogged so there is no intermittent symptoms. I Meant to say that maybe because the pump or filter was starving the engine of fuel. That the vacuum for the brakes was failing. Any way I got a tow truck commin tomorrow to take it to elite so they can work there magic. Cheers. Let us know what they find.I'd be real keen to see how close my diagnostic was. With the fuel though, if the engine is starved it generally conks and farts then dies. They don't normally pick revs up. richard Member 83 Member For: 16y 8m 12d Gender: Male Location: Ipswich QLD Posted 17/02/09 02:16 AM Author Share Posted 17/02/09 02:16 AM Just an update guys. I started the car this morning an it ran like a pig again. It hardly had enough power to reverse it out of my garage, it was ideling lumpy as and nearly stalling this time where as last time it was reving higher than usual but still very rough. Anyway got it out onto the road and started to drag it up onto the towtruck and It started running normal. It idled smooth as and I gave her a quick rev and every thing seemed fine. I still got it towed to Elite and the boys down there think that there must have been heaps of sh*t stuck in the fuel pump. Because of the angle of the car when going onto the truck the sh*t must have come loose. that's what they think after going over the car and finding that everything else is ok. So I'm geting a walbro pump and a new fuel filter. Thanks for all the info.
