Well my head gasket seems to have gone again under warranty in my BF XR6. Looks like it wasn't put back together correctly after the first time a few months ago.

I was just wondering since it has to be pulled apart and sent away if it is worth having the head shaved, ported and polished? I don't know anyone who has done this or what results can be achieved. I don't even have any idea of what it would cost to do. Is it safe to do this to a b series? How much could be shaved off the head so that it still remains reliable?

I'm just thinking about it, because its a now or never thing really.

Cheers,

Brett.

Think I've read that the heads flow really well from the factory, the N/A heads shouldnt be any different.. But I may be wrong.. IMO a nice set of cams would do the trick!!

Yeah, I think a set of cams would give you better results than a port and polish. Most modern heads flow quite well as a bi-product of manufacturers searching for better fuel consumption figures.
