:pinch: Looking for feed back on BMC Carbon fibre air filter system.

Advertising KW gains of 9KW at wheels.

What $$$$ are they and best price location to source?

Thanks

I've got the pod unit with filter for sale if you're interested. The filter has recently been cleaned and unit is in good condition. In Victoria, asking for $350 (excluding postage). RRP is around the $550+ mark I think. Email me at jesmal@bigpond.net.au if you are interested.

Jesmal,

Sorry to rain on your sale but...

WATurbo

We did a few quick tests with the Pod jobbie at the Melbourne Dyno day (do a search for BMC). It was difficult to tell if there was any diff on my car as I was running ULP and not PULP at the time. I prefer the BMC panel filter and additional air box mods (ones done by Geea). It hink it acheives the same effect and you only need to spend under 200 gold coins.

IMO

I put a BMC panel filter on my ute (N/A) and the difference is amazing (3kw more at the wheels apparently). Even dropped the average consumption from 13l to 9-10 per 100km (highway)

Or you could try a K&N panel filter got one the other day. $120

No dyno runs been done yet.

Do you have a model number for this part? My local Autobarn keeps saying that they haven't made a replacement filter yet, but for $160-$170 I can go a BMC- If the K&N is cheaper, I would prefer to go with what I know AND save $$$

WATURBO,

So the BMC pod filter turns you on eh?

I had one on my T and had it installed when I got my 3" stainless steel exhaust fitted. The power difference before and after mods was an increase of 4 kwrw. Now I don't know if the exhaust did that alone or if 9kwrw is achieved by the BMC filter, as claimed, then I lost 5kwrw by fitting the exhaust.

I did not like the look of the BMC pod, the original filter box looks heaps better so I took the BMC filter off. Noticed diddly squat difference in performance. I have kept he BMC pod for one reason......I am going to get another dyno done with the original filter and if power has dropped by even 4kwrw the pod goes back on, stuff the lousy look. If there is no change in power I will be selling it.

Part number for the BMC pod is CDA 85/150 , $549 rrp + fitting (unless your a total geek you can fit it easily yourself).

Part number for the BMC panel filter is 32701, $165 rrp.

The distributor for the BMC's in Perth is Perth Exhaust Centre 9361 3363

Hope this helps. :)
