there becoming more & more of an attractive option to spending nearly $400 a corner & them only lasting 10klm. What size are they width wise. How are they on the street traction wise?

So I guess nobody else has tried the Maxxis ?

I might give them a go. They make a 255/40r19 would they be worth a try as I don't really want to fit 265's to a 8inch rim?

They look like a good option for a budget tyre, what size do you run John?

RIPGMH ran a 11.6 on Nangkangs though, and those things are shee-ite! LOL

But yeah, cant be too bad if your doing 11s on them.

They are a silica compound so shouldn't be too shabby...

Looks not to bad. I'm only using the standard 235/17/45's at the moment can I legally go a size up or 2 & would there be any advantage to it.

I found the MA-Z1 tyres really bad on the street compared to the stock Dunlops with 300rwkw. At the track thou they did hold up really well.

cheap tyres that grip in a straight line for drag racing are one thing, but for serious handling its a different matter. with a utqg of 280 those Maxxis cannot be considered as anything more than a decent street tyre.

the newly released Kumho KU36 looks like it could be a goer...saw it in the latest Tarmac Mag. checking it out now.

I knew someone who tried the Crapsis. He had them for a week then got a refund. Not because of poor performance mind you because he never got the chance to form an opinion. But because they couldn't be balanced. I'd say product consistency would have, and may still be, an issue.

They are 245/35/19s all round ... I'm going to try a 255/40 (a bit taller) or maybe try and squeeze a 265/30 on the rears.

Traction wise on the street they feel pretty good in the dry but feel excelent in the wet. The car handles pretty well around the twisties too.

The surprise is that the car can do consistent 1.8 - 1.9 60 footers on the 19s. Once they warm up a bit they must be pretty good !!
