Yeah.. 18's you have a good choice of r-specs.....

Hopefully, over the next 12 months, we will start to see r-specs come out in 19's.....

For now... I'll just stick to stock 17's with 245/45/17 Falken RT615's..... Nice, cheap good tyre for $250 a corner :)

Only 2000kms. :blink::blink:

I reckon you should try a brick under your r/h pedal. lol

If you're only getting 2000kms out of your tyres how often do you rotate them? Every 500kms? haha

If you're only getting that amount of kms out of a set of tyres you should be looking at your driving style.

Especially if you start putting $400+ a corner boots on.

Yeh only 2000ks :pinch:

That was including a Ian luff driver training day on the skid pan but yeh still sucks.

Spoke to a mate that owns a tyre shop and he said that the Yokahama Advan is one of the best tyres in the 19's but at over $500 each I would want to be getting better life out of them compared to the nexens.

Ive got Pirelli Corsa semis on the back... 295/30/19... they stick like no tyres Ive driven on other than pure slicks on the circuit.

They wont hold power in first, but they hold in second on a good surface.

Only prob is Pirelli only bring them into Aus to suit Porsche cup guys, in standard porche sizing which is 295 and 235... 235 is to narrow for the front of mine so I'm still searching for fronts... prob go for 18s on the front in a 265 if I cant find anything in 19.

retail is 850 ea for the 295s and I belive about 750 for the 235s... IMO 235 is too narrow and you'll chew through them fast, but they should grip better than any regular street tyre in the same width.

With your power you really want wider rubber and rims... you can squeeze a 255 on an 8inch rim, but I dont know what semis are available in 255

Russ...

I've used the Yoky Advan V103, Michelin PS2's and the Continental Sport on the same car but in 295/30/18...... and I've also run Yoky V103 (approx $480 a corner) against Pirelli P Zero Rosso (approx $600 a corner if you shop around) in 245/35/19 on a VYII clubsport....

IMHO... The yoky is an ok tyre, but wasnt as good as the Pirelli.... I have found the Continental Sport to be the best value premium tyre...... But you can never beat a proper R spec tyre.....

Pretty sure they are not....

245/35/19 89W

275/30/19 92W

89W = 580kg max load

92W = 630kg max load

93W = 650kg max load

With a 93W load rating @ 650kg x 4 = 2400 gross kg you can see that the OEM tyre load rating given by Ford has included 600kg's payload over and above the 1800kg weight of the car! This allows for a worse case senario of 5 x 120kg passengers or heavy towing.

With the BF possessing 56% front and 44% rear weight split of it's 1800kg this gives an unladen load on the rear tyres of 400kg per side.

Are my rear 245/35/19 89W Bridgestone RE-01R's with a max load rating of 580kg over loaded ... NO!

2MUCHKW,

How are your tyres going? How many k's have you got on them and how do they perform?

Benny.

Magic Benny ... stock 245/35/19 Dunlop sport Max's caused wheelspin city in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gears and were bald as @ 8000km thanks to 380rwkw Blueboost tune :thumbsup:

Bridgestone RE-01R's rears get slight wheelspin top of 1st gear then your fully hooked up 2nd and 3rd ... have done 17000km and only half worn!

Best $1000 acceleration improvement you could spend on these cars in my opinion :3gears:
