Ford Extended Service

OK I've had a pretty good run with Ford Regular vehicle Service.

But the extended warranty is different. About 6 months back had to argue that I was still under warranty until they read the Extended warranty book. Bought it from the same dealer too.

Two weeks ago had to argue again its under warranty. This time they recorded the details on their system.

Anyway problem is power steering shudder when parking. Left the car with them all day, when I returned they had replaced the fluid and bled the system. See how that goes was the comment, if that doesn't fix it we will have to replace the HP hose.

Phoned 5 days ago told them I still had the problem. Took the car in today, they had it all day again. When I picked it up they had bled the system again because they had not recieved approval to replace the hose. I then insisted on speaking the the Service Manager who explained the process. I informed him they had 5 days to get the approval.

Now it has to go back again when they get approval. Even though they have the hose on the shelf they won't fit it.

And your question is

99.9% of people on here knew that Ford warranty wasn't worth a  before this post, now that you're upto speed 100% of people know

Guys bit harsh...

But yes - true true!

Colin, call 13ford and let them know.

Make sure the extender warranty is a 'Genuine Ford' warranty and not one via the dealer only...

Old man had the extended warranty direct with Ford on his Concord, and all went well with warranty jobs, so while hearing other having issues, doesnt seem to be all.. (I havent had any problems myself - as yet)...

:crybaby:

I noticed at my local dealer on the weekend they have a sign up behind the counter at the service desk - apparently if you have extended warranty you must TELL THEM before repairs are carried out otherwise you're liable for the cost.

Remotely off topic I know, but seriously aren't their computers capable of recording such details? And thus if you don't tell them and have to pay when you have a perfectly valid warranty, surely that's illegal?

Question: When do you ever take a car to Ford for service or warranty, extended or not, and get it fixed properly the first time?

Answer: Never

my car had the timing cover leak thing shorten the bolts and its fixed.Well guys they only shorten the bolts around the leak.Mines was still leaking so they had to wait for head office (Ford) what do we do next.Pull out all the bolts and shorten and then pressure test oil system.Well it fixed it,so when a car comes in with that leak why don't they just shorten all the bolts and be done with it rather than muck around and play games.I think most dealers are working with there hands tied behind there backs and ford australia make the rules as they go.Cheers Nick
