Get a tune, nice brakes & some decent suspension then take a holiday & still come out with change from the $25k. Plus you'll have a car that sh*ts on a Rspec a T is always just that a T unless you get a tune brakes and decent suspension?????what the Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/54525-to-r-spec-or-not/page/5/#findComment-822659 Share on other sites

I've been there, done that plenty of times before. Sure you might be lucky and get an enthusiasts that recognise the money spent and be willing to pay a bit more, but how many guys do you see trying to turn their cars back to standard just to shift them? Frankly, I'm done spending a lot of money on modifying cars.So it's keep it as is for 18 months and have $35K to spend on either 08 XR6T or maybe 07 Phoon with more Ks.Either that or spend the extra $20K now on an 07 R-Spec and get into something that I'd be happy to leave standard and that might hold it's value a bit better? Not sure if this is making any sense to anyone but me agree however once a t always a t.............................................. go for the r-spec the t is just that............. The stock suspension in the R Spec is still crap. Whatever way you go your going to lose money, and any mods on any of these cars just devalue them whether they be BA BF or FG. The R Specs do get the 19 inch rims and leather and a nice car to drive, but at the end of the day your gonna tear up money. I didn't like the FG at all when it came out but it has grown on me, not enough to make me want one though. A warmed up R Spec is a nice car regardless and both a warmed up T or R Spec will slap a stock FG, and if you go the FG your still going to get the driveline shunt, the plasticy feel, and the crap suspension bushes etc, and don't think that the FG is going to hold value any more than what the BAs and BFs have. Guess it depends on your patience levels. Guess it depends if you want to lose 20k now or in the future. For my money F6 R Spec vs FG Xr6T, BF R Spec no question. Collectability - an R-spec is one of 300. Anything limited edition will hold its value over something done on mass. Its called supply vs demand. We are living in the next gen of true muscle cars 2003 - 2013, the last being 1967-1974. 20-30 years from now enthusiasts with hydrogen/hybrid/electric vehicles will recall the days of aussie turbo/petrol power when you can spend 6K on an XR6T/Phoon and have supercar acceleration. I believe the F6 will be a late bloomer in terms of collectability....but it will have its day! The inline 6 will be recognised as the best aussie engine ever built!(How else do you explain the difference between an XY GT Phase 3 replica for $25-45k vs an original XY GT Phase 3 from the factory at well over $600k ps: Im not implying that an F6 R-spec will be as collectable as a phase 3 either, but it will have a market one day)as for the other stuff:2. Leather seats3. Ipod connection4. R-spec 19" rims (Dark Argent/gunmetal accent)5. R-spec suspension (J.Bowe claims 3 seconds a lap quicker around Winton using the R-spec suspension over standard suspension in the GT. Not sure how much quicker for the Phoon)6. R-spec mats7. Rspec badging (exterior boot badge and interior build plate)8. Larger higher capacity oil cooler for the autos - I have read this in forums/dealer websites but never officially from FPV (http://www.jarviscars.com.au/ford/f6-typhoon-r-limited-edition/index.php)9. Dark Argent/gunmetal accent on the rear spoiler pillars.Has a mad "This is Fully Blown" TV commercial check it out at http://www.airbagproductions.com/....go to tv advertising and then click on the 9th ad.As for the question to R-spec or not?....if I was in the original posters shoes and already had a XR6T I would just keep it till the next limited edition F6 (who knows what it will be called) comes out and buy that.
