yeah, wait...what?

if you get a bf mk2 with luxury pack the only differences are as follows

brakes. typhoon gets 4 pot brembos. worth $1800. 6 pots front 4 pots rear is about 6 grand OPTION so that doesn't count.

body kit. couple of grand to change, the only real significant difference

suspension. pretty much exactly the same. the suspension on both models is sh*t.

wheels. standard phoon gets 19's, which are f*cking ugly and most people change them anyway so that's no big loss.

interior. virtually identical if the xr6t has luxury pack, ie same centre console, pretty much same seats excpet phoon gets better embrodery. at least with the xr6t you don't have to use the stupid starter botton. oh and the phoon gets a better steering wheel. $500 of ebay.

mechanically. slightly bigger intercooler, which is still sh*t. and a slightly bigger intake, which you lose as soon as you get a decent intercooler pipping kit. better tune in the phoon, which you lose when you get custom tuning anyway.

hmm yes, not even remotly close.

yes the phoon is better, but not by much other then the body kit.

lol, trust me buddy, you obviously have not owned a typhoon. there is a world of difference, the interior's are no where near close (big difference), the wheels are a good looking wheel, gauges, steering wheel, dash, engine, body kit, suspension. shall I go on......???

at the end of the day you would still have a xr6 turbo, not matter what you did to it, you would still have a xr6 turbo.

as I said before, anyone that knows anything, its a simple choice

Gotta say having owned a BA T when they first appeared, and a BA11 Phoon. Comparing them to the R Spec is like chalk and cheese. the R Spec sh!ts on them both. R Spec also gets leather seats Ford_esky, and I've never seen an R Spec with after market wheels.

Bloody good advert there rev_head71. Pity it never made the telly, well if it did I didn't see it. How did you find that?

:innocent:

Compared to a T with luxury pack the only tangible difference is the dash background, different pattern on the seat covers and a boost gauge...they are still a taxi underneath!

1. Collectability - Nope, they sell for the same as a normal Typhoon and will most likely sell for the same as a Typhoon in 20 years time.

2. Leather seats - this is an option on all Falcons

3. Ipod connection - $60 option

4. R-spec 19" rims (Dark Argent/gunmetal accent) - No different to the optional dark argents on the Typhoon

5. R-spec suspension (J.Bowe claims 3 seconds a lap quicker around Winton using the R-spec suspension over standard suspension in the GT. Not sure how much quicker for the Phoon) - I doubt shock valving would make that much difference. They are the same brand and model shock, spring and antiroll bars as the normal Typhoon, it is only the shock valving that is different.

6. R-spec mats - wow

7. Rspec badging (exterior boot badge and interior build plate) - again WOW

8. Larger higher capacity oil cooler for the autos - Nah mate this is just some BS to make you thing they did something different. All the autos have the same cooler.

9. Dark Argent/gunmetal accent on the rear spoiler pillars. - I have never noticed this performance feature.

The R-Spec is about as useful as the 40th GT or the Cobra. Just badges and some minor stuff to try to shift the remaining BF's. Their valus for money was not bad considerign they included many "options" as part of the deal, so people who bought them should not feel ripped off, but in turn they should not think they are some ultra rare model that will appreciate more than the rest of the FPV cars.

Have a look at what Cobras are selling for now.

You sir, are whack. Those 19's are the best rim Ford Australia have ever had on any car ever... :stirthepot:

3. Ipod connection - $60 option - Yes but not STANDARD

4. R-spec 19" rims (Dark Argent/gunmetal accent) - No different to the optional dark argents on the Typhoon - Different colour

If you're gonna race the f*cker, you're gonna pull the stock suspension anyway

6. R-spec mats - wow - Yes wow, they don't come STANDARD in Falcons

9. Dark Argent/gunmetal accent on the rear spoiler pillars. - I have never noticed this performance feature. - You're a funny guy!

Guys, you're comparing a factory FORD XR6 turbo against an FPV F6 Typhoon. Why the hell do you think they're $20,000 more off the show room floor?

It's like saying whats the point of getting a GTS over an SS, or a GT-R skyline over a GTS... You guys are weird!

They are just peeved because they missed the limited 300 run R Spec. In 20 years time they will all be in the wreckers. I can't see them being anything too special in the future, but they are a notch above the F6s and at least 20 notches above a T.
