No harm done.

I think you're right with the points thing though.

If there are more in the performance part of it in one car than another, that would be a slight advantage I would think.

You're right I don't know much about the zf transmission, but I do know how an engine works.

What are you implying?

Are you trying to say that if you removed an engine from an auto and a manual equipped car of the same amount of kms there would be a great amount of horsepower difference?

I doubt it.

The transmission is a coupling between the engine and the the rear end of the car. In no way does the transmission affect engine output, unless the zf transmission has exceeded it's normal operating paramaters and the ecu intervenes and shuts down power accordingly.

But on the track I reckon a manual equipped car with the same driver would be quicker.

ZF would be quicker hands down with my gearbox (points system scenario) :nyaah:

I can certainly vouch for the points down the strip point of view. I drive very sedately most of the time but when I'm going to run down the quarter I do a series of rapid acceleration starts and it always pulls a good time down the track, however around town it feels a little sluggish by comparison. The points may not affect the engine power but it certainly does affect how it is put to the ground.
