Hey all...

Currently own a BA 04 Mk1 XR6T, currently stock but had planned to do all the work to get around 300rwkw. Now being a BA there are a few things to consider like valve springs and the auto 4 spd with that kinda power hence why I now possibly plan to upgrade in say a year to a lower km BF MKII T and then do the mods I originally planned and hold onto the car for a long while.

In the meantime thou I wouldnt mind getting a little more than stock power out of the BA but without pouring money into it due to the upgrade later. Have a Flash tuner so plan to get a custom tune, but recently also pickup a set of 42lb injectors second hand and Typhoon cooler.

Question is, tune alone will get be between 250 - 255rwkw... add the injectors and could get 270rwkw safely but additional fitting costs etc is it worth it.. will I really notice the power increase of 15 - 20rwkw???

Or would fitting the cooler and then getting custom tune without injectors get me more than 255rwkw?

If I were going for more power down the track, injectors pump etc would be a done for sure, but with this car it wont be the case.

Any experience or comments here would be great!

Cheers!

if you fit the cooler and injectors your self it would be ok. just make sure you keep the stock parts

I picked up over 20rwkw from fitting a catback XForce exhaust and I noticed it straight away because it all of a sudden fried the tyres in the first 3 gears.

The torque increase is what you'll feel... :drivingalong:

My car made 252rwkw tuned, and I was surprised that when I put it back to stock tune it made 227rwkw on the second run.

Note, that its manual, and had:

Centre muffler removed, F6 CAI, K&N. <------------ I beleive that this alone gives you 20rwkw over stock.

A VE Clubcport made 225rwkw stock (not run in yet) on the same day !!!!

I'm in a simmilar boat.

I have been advised by a reputable tuner that with just a flash box and custom tune, my car (auto), should net between 230 - 250 rwkw depending on how the stock injectors hold up.

Its not difficult to fit the cooler. Injectors can be tricky if you have never done them or work like that before.

See how you go with flash box, cooler and custom tune. Should give a noticeable increase from stock rwkw.

Forget about the #'s at the top of the dyno sheet. Have a look at the overall curve. You may "only" pick up 20kw's in the top end but the power will come in lower down and make more power through the whole rev range. You will notice the difference

Yeah similar here. Bolted on XForce 3.5 inch with split dump and picked up 18rwkw untuned (less restriction, more boost). Tuned I walked out with 35rwkw more on same boost and yep, you could feel the difference. Had the actuator/flapper mod done at same time.
