A friend of mine whom I trust has a source inside Ford engine developement, say's the boss engines are currently being tested with twin turbo's not supercharger. This is NOT a fact make of it what you will, if true then Geoff hasn't put his skirt on just yet! and we're in for fun times ahead Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5434-vyii-clubsport-power/#findComment-43132 Share on other sites

DrewBytes Member 95 Member For: 22y 21d Location: Canberra Posted 14/08/03 12:34 PM Author Share Posted 14/08/03 12:34 PM Plonky, just cause you say the XR8 is better, don't make it so. All the performance cars from Ford/Expensive Daewoo are great products - it boils down to personal preference. Taste in cars is similar to women - sometimes fickle, and differs widely from person to person.240 T, manufacturers in any game only do what they have to, including cars. Why would Expensive Daewoo have to up the power output unless they have to? They are the no 1 seller, they're increasing power now because of the Ford products that are available, they want to retain no 1 spot - nothing wrong with that! The LS1 has TONS of room to move - all you have to do to get 300kw is exhaust + edit the ECU. Want 350kw? Add a mild cam. 400kw? heads+cam. LS1 motors make very easy power, can't say about the Boss, don't know enough about it.It's thanks to the rivalry between Expensive Daewoo and Ford that we have the great cars we do today. It's going to be an interesting few years, with the VZ coming out next year with the new 6 rated around 200kw or just under, the Gen4, the all new VE in 2006. Exciting times ahead! We have a huge budget, but it is not unlimited and I don't think 9k from a set of tyres is very economical. This relates to one model and brand of car and due to a model change we are now going through three sets of tyres for every one set on the previous model.I have been driving both the Expensive Daewoo and Ford for a fair while now and the XR8 absolutely smashes the SS in a number of areas. This is a change considering the AU was probably not the best type of car for our type of work. The facts don't lie, there is a massive shift towards the XR8 with a large number of orders for the car. In fact our fleet dept is only ordering Falcons for the nest two months to staisfy the demand.I certainly agree with you that both cars have some positive features and they are probably the performance bargains anywhere in the World.I intend no offence to you, however I thought it fair to explain exactly what criteria we are working under.Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5434-vyii-clubsport-power/#findComment-43299 Share on other sites
