devo Member 64 Member For: 16y 11m 10d Posted 07/02/09 12:04 AM Share Posted 07/02/09 12:04 AM Ok, I have a stock 12,000km old BF MKII Turbo, and I have money in the bank... I'm a 24yr old male so we know where this is heading, I need more power!I have been going through a few options at different cost levels here is what I came up with.Injectors and flashbox = $1000 approxCustom tunes = $1000 - got this figure from LS1 tuning, figure its about the same cost.So $2000 or there abouts for 250rwkw safely? Im in Katherine so it needs to be a 95ron tune aswell.Next step was the one im not sure about cause its pretty pricey one, and getting it all tuned for 95ron may waiste its potential and also be a waiste of money cause I would need it retuned when I move back to victoria... but ill plot it out below to see if im in the right ballpark.ontop of the 2k listed above$1500 xforce turbo back system$2000ish for a Rapid cooler kit and airbox with battery (in katherine with the rains the ubcai is too risky)$noidea - fuel pump and swirlpot or what ever those mini tanks are called (dont know if required)$noidea - clutch... I assume this is beyong the boundries of the standard clutch.so $5500 for 330rwkw or there abouts with good fuel I guess, probably closer to 300rwkw on 95 if its even possible. that's before the fuel pump and clutch...Its likely ill just go option one, then I have the stuff I need for the next level when I move to a more suitable location. Here are some more questions though.Who in NT is a decent tuner for the turbos, I know there isnt anyone here you might wanna give a 550rwkw monster to to iron out a perfect tune, but to get a good safe tune (better and safer than generic) and be able to tune with 60lb injectors as I have heard its harder to tune with bigger injectors... I got 242rwkw with $1000.00 with 95. flash and good tune should get you that. if your tuner can still use xcal1 or 2. a bit more if have to use new version of edit. injectors would be required for anything above that. I'm pretty sure you bought that from Jalyn when I was working there, anyway besides the point, I need a tuner.

And yeah it came from Jalyn.I only had a heap of power runs done by Shawn at Premier Fuel Injection in Berrimah. He was the one who told me Dave wasn't doing anymore and had closed the doors at Hi Tech.I asked him who did tuning up there and he said there was one shop other than Dave but I can't remember who. He doesn't do any tuning as they are more diesel based, but can do power runs.

Bit of a drive, but what other options do you have?
devo Member 64 Member For: 16y 11m 10d Posted 08/02/09 04:43 AM Author Share Posted 08/02/09 04:43 AM other option is to wait till im back in victoria and take it to someone down there. that will be mid to late in the year though. Although since im likely going to be driving it to victoria with average fuel and long cruising at 3000rpm at 130km/h it might not be a bad idea to leave it stock untill that's done, even if just for warranty purposes if something was to happen....
