I started off flat shifting & really abusing my last T at the strip but 2 diffs later I realised steady & smooth was the ticket. I ran my quickest times when changing slower & smoother than I previously had :sleepystuff:

If you don't have that launch control/flat shifting thing that was talked about on here a few months ago, flat shifting is pointless anyway as the TB closes during gear changes on account of the ecu protecting the driveline...

No it doesn't - not when you have a real tuner work on your car...

:3gears:

Saying that - I haven't flat shifted the EVO yet..

I'm not telling you my secret, but those of you who have driven with me can vouch for my speedy gear changes when I need to :beerchug:

If you don't have too much power and have a standard clutch you can ride it just a little as you change up to hold the boost longer. :3gears:

I blew a diff in a N/A BA XR6 flat changing into 3rd... :hiall:

I have never flat changed this car I think its pointless! Learn your clutch, find the sweet spot and go hard. I would rather fry my clutch than blow a box or diff!

None of that makes any sense to me at all, based on what little I klnow about a T56, or any manual tranny for that matter....

Ride the clutch to hold boost? Why? How? I don't care how much power is there..

Flat changing makes no difference? Actually it does - about .2 of a difference.

Seems you've fried plenty of clutches!

Box is near bullet proof - not many people have blown the diff either.. CV's - 'nother story - oops quickest manual runs stock cv's..
