Just got word back from Ford, our06t is on the money they are part of the brake pad kit and won't be seperated. Mine is annoying me, I think the only option is to change pads which is no issue because I still have OEM ones on there. Ferodo are out, so maybe Bendix?

I just received another reponse from Ford parts:

Anti-rattle shims do come with genuine brake pad kits and are sold separately BA2C399A $10.15 each.

Ring coventry's (or you equiliant on your side of the country) with that part # and see if they can match it $10.95 if a rip for a 2c piece of stamped steel. I have ebc pads and they came with new anitrattle shim's and also a heavy duty self adhesive vinyl material that goes between the pad and the piston. They are yet to make a noise. It might pay you to ring and EBC dist and see if the vinyl is avaliable seperatly?

Bursons and Repco do not carry these. Ford seems like the easiest if not only option. I am going to try get mine done under warranty, my dealer hasn't knocked back any warranty requests yet so see how it goes.

I think the shims can be sourced from worn out pads that Ford or any mechanic has as long as there the same size. No real need to buy brand new ones.

I think new would be better as they are very thin metal pressed items and could loose shape , in saying that I didn't cahnge shims last time I did pads I really think well I know it's the backing glue that stop mine from playing up

and yeh I had mine done under warrenty when I first bought the car second hand with 40k on it no dramas

just use the backing glue guys it solves a lot of probs

I have had a rattly 'nocking/wobbly' noise coming fromt front and rear when I go over bumps...Sounds like someone knocking on a font door (woody type nock/shuddering noise)

I have had the bushes replaced with nolathane and pedders sports ryder shocks replaced at pedders. Car drives much better now but still have the nocking noise?

Does this sound like pads?

Hi guys/gals,

I drive a 06 xr6t and had that "rattle" sound when I drove over bumps. It didn't happen when I first fitted new bendix pads, but 10,000k's later that rattle reappeared. I pulled the pads out and "adjusted" the anti rattle shims/plates. This worked for a few thousand k's but the rattle is back. Could someone supply the name of the glue that is being used and where I can buy it?

Cheers
