Have You Had Your Car Trashed In A Carpark?

Currently on workers comp with a pretty bad back injury, went to rehabilitation gym class last Monday, (had my wife take me cause I cant drive at the moment), we parked in the shopping centre carpark where the gym is located, making sure we parked a mile away from everyone as we always do. Anyways I went to the gym whilst the missus went school exercise book shopping for the kids.

We were there for about an hour. Finished up our business and went back to the car, put the babies in and drove home. Next morning the missus had to take me to my regular workcover doc for review. When she has gone to get the car out of the garage all I can hear is $%%@*%#*(%^#. I'm thinking this ain't good and said whats the matter. She replies "there's a dent and DEEP scratches on the drivers side passenger door. I immediately rush around (with the screwed back it was a sight to see me move that quick) and had a look and my heart dropped.

When we had returned to the car the day before we had not bothered to look around the car as we always do when another car is parked next to us. But there was no cars near us when we got there and none there when we came back + putting the babies in the car we were obviously pre-occupied. There is not a doubt in my mind that some ^#(%#(^&%# lowlife has been on the other side of the carpark with a trolley and has just pushed it away after finishing with it. Obviously it has gone slamming into my door, they have seen it or heard it at least and have looked around for any witnesses, after realizing there weren't any, they pissed off.

Has anyone else been in this predicament? Did you confront centre management? Get anywhere? Just be interesting to know if someone has already been down the road I am considering travelling?

Cheers

Dan

That absolutely sucks. Any cameras in that part of the car park? Maybe head back and have a look :( Apart from that I'm not sure what else to suggest.

Nuh no cameras. But try hards driving and walking around with security on their shirts - absolutely useless. Missus is going to make formal complaint tomorrow. See how we go I suppose. An auto paint shop down the road occasionally do diy classes on how to fix situations such as this. Only problem is with my back I can hardly walk so that's going to be a bit tricky at the moment. Find out end of next week if I'll be sliced and diced (they need to extract a disc and replace it with spaceage crap so I'll be out of action for 2-3 months but the thought of my baby being hurt really sticks in the side. I'm sure all you guys know where im coming from.

All I can say is they are lucky I didn't catch them cause if I did we were parked on the 3rd floor and I wouldn't have thought twice throwing them over the edge with the current meds Im on. Just sh*ts me someone that couldn't be bothered to work their arse off to afford something nice trashes someone else's that can.

There are the no responsibility signs as you first come in. Honestly I doubt we'll get anywhere but the missus is going to argue for them to force their shops to have the trolleys you need to pay for, that way people will have to return them and just not push them away not giving a sh*t where it goes or what it does.

At the first big vic weekend, my car and and 2 interstate visitors had our cars keyed, metal deep. Walked around the back of mine and did the rear qtrs, boot and spoiler as well as stopping to continue over the fuel flap. The Sydney car had his front qtrs and bonnet done as did the qld car!

Arsoles, probably just jealous of 15 xrt's partked in a line.

Yeah it sux and I'm sure there are a lot of people here that will feel for ya dude.

The Phantom NA had someone run into the back of it in a secure car park. Was really shirty about that. My car was usually parked in the 'larger' spots for that reason, pleanty of room between cars and minimal chance of doors knocking into your panels. Unfortunately it was in an area that was not covered by security camera's. just had to ware it. Had a few scratches and door dents and I'm sure more will happen with the new FG.

My MPS copped a dent in the roof, several deep scratched near the drivers door handle and about 3 door dings.

The FG's already been keyed, not badly but it was able to be fixed. That's parked at a train station. Unfortunately, working in the city, it's unavoidable unless I drive in or get a bomb to go to the station in, might yet...
