the bigger the better ross.. afterall, the more unburnt fuel in the exhaust the better :wavey:

anyways, powerglide should be ready this week.

just waiting on the parts (sump, timing cover, and alternator) to come back from ceramic coating :)

You're coating the sump and alternator? Timing cover I can understand...

Are these parts commonly ceramic coated in drag racing?

its a cheap alternative to polishing it, never goes dull, never needs polishing.

basically, part of having a drag car is getting sponsors, I want my car to look awesome from exterior and also engine bay.

so the better it looks, the better chances I have at securing a sponsor :)

mate when you have your fuel system in, set your reg to 80psi, (that is the presure you need at 20psi in these)undo your return, and see how much fuel is returning,(this is how much fuel supply you have for your motor underpower) those pumps are rated hi volume, but at 80psi, they drop back to about half the flow.I found the 625 pro tuner was good for about 420rwksin these, put two 044's on and dubled the flow of the 625.

do the test as soon as you can so you can get your money back.

ok ok cheers david. I will have to check it out.

appreciate the advice :)

ok here's how to remove a Barra motor oil pump... pain in the ass compared to E-series.

I had to remove: sump, timing cover, rocker cover (big bolts go through the timing cover), chain tensioners, harmonic balancer.. etc, list goes on.

I used the billet oil pump gears, due to the stock ones failing at usually around 350rwkw.

some places recommended the billet oil pump casing too, BUT ive been told the standard housing is better, due to the billet casing being more brittle. so a big bump or rev.. might crack them.

(ill just make them thumbnails due to the fact theres 21 photos of this process, just click on the thumbnails and they will link you to a larger photo)
