Teins would cost him probably double what he is paying for this stuff... Maybe, I dunno what he'd get em for with discount from the bloke he knows at fulcrum...

He seems to be getting his gear at a pretty good price though.

Kinda similar stuff to what I got (mines height adjustable front though with Eibach springs - giving it about 50mm lower in the front and 60mm lower at the rear).

You'll be very impressed with the ride of all that gear mate, well done.

Yeah, lets see how this looks. Nice set up. But if you wanted to do it right first time, why didnt you get coil overs. Fulcrum do TEIN's which are great.

The Teins are a great product and I actually have the Tein Flex coilovers on my MX5 race car. However, I decided I didn't need the adjustability of the Teins on the XR and couldn't justify the extra cost.

Good stuff Paul, you will be happy with this I reckon.

Did you consider the slightly uprated Kings 520lb f / 310lb rear springs that are still well within the workable spring rate for the Bilsteins?

A 27mm front and 22mm rear bar would complement this set up nicely.....dont bother with the adjustables.

I did consider them, but being my every day driver, I didn't want to make the ride any harsher than necessary. I already have 35 series tyres on 19" rims so it's already a little harsher than standard.

Might look into the sway bars down the track a little.

Im about to do the handling in my FG F6 Ute. I also can get anything from Fulcrum at a good price. Have been intending on going TEIN but now im wondering if that will be an overkill. Whats your thoughts and should I also think about a sway bar. The F6 understeer's pretty heavily at the moment.

Iam at Boronia Heights and can either pick up if not to far or pay for them on the Toowoomba cruise if you are going.

I'm very happy with the Tein Flex coilovers I have on the MX5. If I was planning to take the T on the track 4 or 5 times a year, I probably would have gone with the Teins. However, for around town and the occassional "spirited" drive I decided the Bilsteins/Kings package would be sufficient.

I'm yet to experience much understeer in my car but a lot of people seem to be installing sway bars on these cars. Generally speaking a bigger rear sway bar will help to decrease understeer, but it might be best if you install both front and rear adjustable bars if you are going to go that way. At least that way you have a bit of adjustment that can finely tune the FRC.

Here are the after photos as promised.

After a couple of days the ride heights are 345mm on the front and 350mm on the rear. So it has dropped approx 20mm on thre front and 25mm on the rear. Not sure if they'll settle any more but pretty happy with how it sits now.
