You need to find yourself a good accountant. It's amazing how a good accountant will turn you from a high income earner, into a low income earner, but with all sorts of goodies paid from money not considered yours from an income point of view.

Best thing I ever did was find a good accountant (and don't try and do it yourself, because if you f it up, you owe the gov't big time)

I have a good accountant buts there's only so much they can do.........

If i earn over 100k and my wife earns leas the 80k is she eligable?

How much differnence does Krudd expect $950 to make to the economy?

I'm in the same boat although I will be married in April.

Not 1000% sure but I haven't seen anything re the $950 cash bonus to suggest just because you're over doesn't mean your wife can't get it. Don't hang me on that one though.

I guess it isn't so much a case of how much difference can $950 make but if you consider that it is being given to 8.7 million people or thereabouts, and hope to God that most of them spend every last cent of it, that's over $8bn being injected into the economy. Add in the drought payments, interest rate cuts, education bonuses (which I believe is $950 per child for eligible families) etc etc - it all adds up. At least I guess that's what they're hoping.

I can't imagine it will keep us from recession but merely delay it and perhaps reduce the depths to which the economy plunges. Stem the tide until the cyclical nature of the economy starts to hopefully kick into gear.

Your car out of warranty or something??

This seems to be very dangerous. Giveth with one hand and taketh with another at a later date?? I'll get some money but I dont really want it. It wont change my life. Cant it go into roads, hospitals here in NSW that cant pay there bills and the police force current pay claim.

Even if your accountant farks it all up, you are accountable as you sanction the work on you tax. A good tax accountant will, however be able to fight and plead your case in a far better way and minimise the damage just like a good lawyer.

I am with IB on this one, the money is better spent on infrastructure, I wont say no to the money though.

air conditioning for the house I meant.

also from my understanding of what is written, your missus is still gonna be eligable luke. It is assessed individually.
