Guest XR09 Guests Posted 12/02/10 02:13 AM Share Posted 12/02/10 02:13 AM Mine did that. I took it back and they replaced the left hand mirror, which fixed it. Ha that's where the sensor is.

Ha that's where the sensor is.I have a July 2008 FG XR6t with lux pack and tech packI must say that the car is impressive in many regards, ride comfort, acceleration, comfortI have had rear diff bushes changed twice, and there are noises coming from the front and rear ends that Ford have been unable to rectify. Furthermore, the dealers have tried to take advantage of the situation by charging me extra to 'retension'the suspension to try to solve the problem. All in all, I think its very difficult trying to get the level of performance and refinement demanded by us from a $50,000 vehicle. In saying that, a large proportion of blame when it comes to customer perception of Ford reliabilty and quality comes down to the dealers. It seems that many dealers leave a sour taste in peoples mouths with their arrogance and blatant unashamed profiteering.BTW, I owned an MY05 sti (for 5 years), and 2 other wrxs. I drove em like I stole them and never had one issue. Unlike the XR6t, the STI is engineered to get flogged and ask for more. The quality ratings don't lie. The TGW rankings are world class and better than the opposition. The dealer response to warranty problems is a whole different matter though, and that's where the problem lies. However its hard to compare between countries - apparently the yanks "perception of quality" revolves around the number of flash gizmos in the car, fit and finish has little influence. That said the sedan has been comfortably better than the aurion in the customer polls for a few quarters running. The Orion is the best quality vehicle ever built in this country - simple as that. Well, in my case, my Dec 08 build XR6T with 16k on the clock has been absolutely flawless. Let alone no major flaws, no minor flaws, not one squeak, rumble or pop. Nothing. Nada. I've had a number of lease cars over the years and the FG is by far the best I've had. Mixed cycle is now 10.1 L/100, the bark from 2nd to 3rd has become more aggressive under load (hehe)...I keep scraping the front overhang when parking at various shops ....and sometimes my ipod classic goes into a fenzy on 'random play', but I can't really complain to Ford about that can I?Interestingly, a month after delivery, I got a call from one of the engineers at Ford and we discussed my customer survey feedback. He was very happy that I couldn't find fault. Soooooo ......I'm one happy little black duck folks
