My brother owns a VE ss ute it has been back a few times, waiting for the clutch to go at any moment, his wifes subaru is a pile of crap.My FG has had it's fare share of problems. In the dealers as we speak.Thought about selling the FG and looked around to replace it with something else.Well what do you replace it with.I need a large car as I travel interstate abit, what else is out there.Don't want a 4WD, so really in that price range you don't have a choice really its Expensive Daewoo or ford.

If my ford didn't have the kick arse performance that they have,it would of been long gone by now.So I think you really have no choice if your looking for a large better than average looking ,performance car at around the 50k price tag Ford is the way.

Looking at my brothers VE SS the only thing that I like about the car is the glove box, huge it's even got a shelf in it.In every other way I think the falcon is the better car and that coming from someone who has had more issues with their falcon than anyone else at the dealership.Cheers Nick

Mine has done tweny five thou now.

Had a fair few issues with the ICC, build and paint quality. Now it has not faulted for a few months.

Mirror scalp decided to flap itself off on the motorway last week. Got rid of the wind noise. And they promptly fitted a new one.

There is thousands of parts on a car and we cant expect perfection right off.

The big difference in the FG is the handling. The front end is on another level. So is chassic stiffness.

Get a good set of dampers and springs to suit your ride height, tuff bushes for even more feel and brakes to haul it up and it's Superb.

few little niggles robbo but the car is too awesome to worry about them

to all those that constantly whinge about every problem their car has - did you buy it to drive or to whinge about - sure mine leaks water in the footwell, the exhaust rattles, the diff is noisy, thye fuel gauge is sh*te and the climate control stuffs up every now and then - but then that is what warranty is for isnt it - they are not gonna shun anyone with a LEGITIMATE warranty claim so I say enjoy the car and let ford worry about fixing the problems - and if they dont fix it just go straight to the dealer principal - they dont usually like hearing about their service department being incompetent lol

Well ive had mine for just over a week now and I could not be happier with it.

In comparrison with my old ba mkii there is next to no drive line shunt. The manual is nice and light with a really nice clutch feel.

Can't get over the fuel consumption of the thing either. So much better than the old car.

I know people bag the cars for fit and finish but I'm quite impressed with everything. One thing I don't like is the driver side spear. You can see where the left over plastic is from when it was moulded.

I do miss the induction noise of the ba but as far as standard exhaust noise I reckon the fg sounds a little meatier.

Miss the induction noise? You sure you got a turbo under the hood Robbo?

The fact that this place is a collection of enthusiasts probably makes everything sound worse than what it is. If I had the same high level of satisfaction with everything I buy compared to the Ford Falcon I’d be pretty farkin stoked.

Have just past the 12-month mark with mine, driveline is getting a bit dodgy, electronic stuff (bluethooth/ipod etc.) occasionally plays-up...but it still makes me grin like a fool when commanded so that’s all that really matters!

Yes is it a turbo Tab :icon_ford:

All that I can really here under WOT is the exhaust and the turbo.

With the ba the induction was quite noticable. Might have had something to do with the filter and phoon intake.

Just spent the best part of 7 hours on the thing today.

Wash - Rinse

claybar - Wash - Rinse

chamois dry (starting to feel the heat at this point)

Polish - Buff off

Polish - Buff off again.

Wax - Buff off

Bit of tyre shine here and there

Look at car. Damn, looks sweet

I reckon I had sweat on sweat today

Pic doesnt do it justice. Its silky smooth all over
