At first I enjoyed the wheelspin everytime you put your foot down but now I'm a little over it. I think that 1st gear should have it's name changed to SMOKE! I just want to be able to put my foot down and go without all the fuss.

What experience has anyone had with grippy rubber for 245/35 20.

You won't find a better gripping road tyre than a Michelin Pilot Sport 2.

Problem is for a 20" rim you'll be looking at over 1k a corner...

Go for the Toyo Proxes 4, really good price, best grip for a street tyre and will last twice as long as the stock dunlops!

if your trying to stop it spinning up in 1st. save your money and don't bother. no tyres will hold first gear, except maybe r-comps/mt streets, but they aint 20's so that is a mute point.

try controlling your right foot a bit

245 wides aint gonna cut it, u need 275 rears with decent rubber.

I have 255 kumho ku31's and they grip pretty well, but do have create alot of road noise at low speed

You need to know what ya wanna spend before we can give reasonably logical answers. We can all point ya to the most expensive but if you dont have deep enough pockets, its a bit pointless.

Some of the guys in WA run the Sumitomo's and seem to be fairly happy for the price...

Nexen 3000's come in a 20... Im not sure what they are like though.

Khumo Ku31's come in 20's...

Have a read around on here as to what others are running.

Esky is right though - get out of first and into 2nd lol!

I am currently running nexen 3000's, they are very noisy at low speeds and when cornering at low speeds. They dont have very much straight line grip compared to some hankook Ultra high performances I used to have on my BA.

Budget I suppose will need to be around the 350 - 400 mark, not too concerned with cornering grip but more straight line grip with average wear life
