Quite a few of us run well over 14psi and have good results, but it always comes down to the tune (mainly timing through the midrange),But you also need to make sure it always has plenty of high grade fuel, cool inlet, under bonnet, water, oil and exhaust temps.Your tuner is telling you that its at a safe level right now, and isnt keen to go beyond, which is fair enough, he doenst want to risk it blowing later on.If your going to run high boost, your out on your own, if it blows, it blow, if it makes 400plus and holds up your doing well.Theres guys that know how to play with high boost, and guys that don't, which is why some blow, and some dont.An example of this is I recently had a Melb tune shop (non xr6t) tell me my rings were gone, due to the smoke it blew when backing off... I modded the engine breather system and hey presto... no more smoke.
