pretty sure it just has to have a tune in it, and not be blank.. geriatric or custom either is fine.

Better get your mate to ring them.

I think if it has generics it will be fine, as it will be vin locked once he uploads the tunes.

Like I said ealier their wording leaves a lot to be desired, so to be safe call them.

JUST TO CLARIFY EVERYTHING!

So long as these tune shops contact us ASAP on the details above, those who do will be able to update the XCal1 for as long as they have customers needing updates... So, if you CURRENTLY own and use an XCal1 unit then you are fine and have nothing to be concerned about. Nothing has changed for you at all, you have lost nothing... As long as your unit has already been tuned to your car, you are fine. We are supporting currently tuned XCal1 units.

This being said, all new tune sales from here on will need to be done on the X3 (if your chosen tuner doesn’t have any stock of the other units), as again, components are no longer available to repair the XCal1 or add future years to them.

The Team @ Herrod Motorsport & SCT

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this reads, your x-cal 1 box will work fine, but you can no longer tune your x-cal1 connected to your car, you can only update them however??? update what??? but if you want a tune (tune sale) you have to buy a x-cal 3??? it's all in the wording, sounds like they still have you by the danglies.

If you already have an Xcal1 box that you have been using on your car you are fine, your tuner can still use it to tune your car. If you havent got an Xcal1 and you want to tune your you must buy a Xcal3 to do so. Simple really.

"Please allow me to adjust my pants. So that I may dance the good time dance"

However, despite the systematic abuse it suffers, my memory isn't all that short...

These *beep* have done their dash afaic.

I'll be lookin' elsewhere if/when I upgrade from my X-cal1.

I'm pleased but not grateful.
