comparing the xcal 1 to a VHS is not the same thing, until yesterday. it is more like buying a $50 DVD player from kmart as apposed to going to JB hifi and buying a $150 or $250 DVD player with more features.

All the boxes do the same thing. They allow a tune to uploaded to the car, that is it.. there entire basic function. Xcal 2 and 3 have added functions that for 99% of us serve no purpose, all we want is a tune in our car, that's the $50 dvd player

SCT are trying to use the point that all Xcal 1's on the market were purchased from them in 2005, so therefore are "old and used" when the reality is that the market was flooded with "6000-7000" boxes, and till now that has been sufficient for the aus market so they have not made anymore money out of us.

I like that post.

well said!!

so what happens if you bought a x1 off eby and its vin locked?can it be unlocked and if it can could someone point me in the right direction..f*ck sct..

if you did that I would recommend throwing it in the bin, those of us with legitimate boxes have no way of using ours so the guys with second hand boxes (the reason this whole sh*tfight has come about) will have even less chance.

I understand what you are saying but was it not stated that that there is a limit of 5 reset's (or vehicles) before the product "expires" and we need to replace it.

so that comes back to sct or capa that it should be ok to resell.

in thinking that way I bought one off ebay.so if its useless now I will be looking for another product other than anythink from sct

guys here is a post of another forum

"Somebody asked what the Sniper Flash Tuning Tools could do.

Can Flash more than one vehicle at the same time/ same interface.

Does not require reseting.

Vehicle coverage is Some AU Falcon, BA (only two more pcm's to cover now, BF Falcon and soon FG.

Has all parameters available (there are thousands).

Can Flash one off calibrations or use an interface for multiple calibration storage.

Sniper are offering a trade in on other product at the moment also.Dealer packages have one years free flashing"

seems that sniper are now offering a trae in deal on their interface setup... might be worhwhile looking into it

There is a tuner on another forum, who says he still has a copy of 2.9, you may want to track him down.
