Thanks PitLane, cleared alot up.. For me anyways..

This sucks major balls.. I feel for those that paid the $1200 for em, I paid $750 in a group buy CV had ages ago, only been used on my car so yeah not happy.. So why not f*ck over the distributor/tuner that SCT ALLOWED to reset the boxes instead of shafting every tuner and us?? Seems like a good way to loose buisness to me, SCT you'll regret it..

tuners can also make money out of this... they will get to sell you a new box etc etc... so its not as bad for a tuner as it is for the end user.

sct farked the ens user over the hardest, as we get NOTHING out of this.

but the tuner's who sold the boxes will still have to deal with all the bs involved with refunds and/or lost business of there own from customers who may not be aware of the reason for this, the tuner's will cop it just as hard as the end user, just because of sct and the dodgy aus distributor...

Moved to this thread

I am running a sniper tune at the moment... however as I dont want to buy a sniper box I am wanting to use my sct flash box again. If I am forced to buy something else it wont be an sct product and looks like my money is going towards the sniper.

so in summary, the sniper works fine on a bf at least.

can you advise what cars do not accept sniper?

good report too!!!!

I do not have the sniper at this stage, I enquired about it a while ago and the distributor would not return several emails over a 2 week period, so I figured if they will not help leading to a sale, how are they going to help after a sale has been made. I may have to revisit this though and give them a second chance.

I was speaking to another tuner yesterday and he told me the sniper is hit and miss on what processor codes it works on.

as I mentioned earlier, this is just info as I know it, just trying to clear up some facts

onboost............yes but at the end of the day the customer has lost the most... and is the only one that does not stand to make a CENT on this........ sct know that...

your tuner will be able to say to you "unfortunately sct have done this, there is nothing we can do about it. We can sell you a new upgraded version of the same product though"

its not the tuners fault, and as such your not going to start screaming at him.... sct know this and are playing it in this manner

good summary there. but you have to remember that no matter what the product/ manufacturer/ seller, ALL are bound to certain hard written, if not ethical laws that the product they are selling will be servicable for the reasonable life of it. so if sct have stopped making version 1's for years, I guess they are not liable. so who is? I have not had mine for longer than 6 weeks, so as a consumer I have the right for some reinbursement/ refund from who I bought it off. it's my right. so poor mr xyz tuner are really going to cop the costs if a solution cant be found quickly to make older versions still tunable. annoying as it is, sct are no more liable than a car manufacturer would be if the fuel companys decided not to make petrol any more. their product would be just as useless.

ever tried to get new parts for an older car from a dealer just to be told they do not make them any more? that happened to a friend of mine with a series 111 au xr8. no new rear bumpers in aust and ford dont make them. frustrating, but its ford's right ONCE the warantee period is over....

sct arent out to make friends, just $$$. and they are gonna do that just fine......

thanks for that ratter.

I have my bf running a sniper as we speak, RAPHOON (another site member) has his turbo terri snipered and works just fine...... another member on this site has a snipered teri who lives in toowoomba (cant remember his site name), this teri goes hard!!... so all the cars that we have tried have worked... that's 3 out of 3 that I know. small numbers but at least no problems to report
