I will give a full rundown on the series of events that has made this mayhem happen in a later post , I had no idea that SCT were doing this apart from wanting to shut down the unlocking of the boxes .

At this time I would like to tell you I have it 95 % sorted and hopefully by the morning I will have it locked down and things will be back to normal .

Hmmm... It's a very crappy situation...

Sorta the same for anyone who bought a HD-DVD player... They are redudant and cost a fair bit... They dont make movies for them any more... They have to upgrade to BLURAY...

SCT should be able to make a program to reflash the XCAL1's with an updated software for those who want a custom tune... And when they do it, fix the "bug" that allows existing companies etc to unlock boxes... Hence, making them only usable by one person and never used again... (Or maybe under extreme circumstances ie. written off car, SCT only can take off a VIN no.)

The response from SCT is ridiculous. It would be like Microsoft creating an update in Word that only allowed you to read and print existing files that had been created, but not allowing you to create new ones or edit existing files... Imagine the uproar... You have paid big $$$ for reusable software, but they have decided to end your use of it when they felt like it. It's wrong...

Got abit of a shock when I read this as mines goin back in for more fine tuning in the next week or so. I just rang the tuner & said its all sweet for now but there upgrading to VCM soon. Just trialing it for now but seems like it might be the tuning program of the future. Has anyone had this done yet??? Sounds all good in theory.

will tihs affect any other sct boxes, I have a RDP box not a capa box I know there the same but does rdp have there own license to use this box under there name.
