X-cal 1 To Become Useless?

to right buf the more I look at sniper the better it looks more apps ability to play more yourself ,tune a few cars with the same gear and tuners who have used say it has way more paramiters to adj

I'm seriously looking at it ,my good mate tunes gm stuff so he knows the rules ,get the play at home package and see what happens '

maybe guinee pig time for me , my bottom end has lasted longer than it should have anyway so why not have a go

I had my car booked in at my local tuner for an X-Cal1 tune next week, but after this event unfolded I contacted him and have now decided to try the VCM Suite software. He currently uses this with great success on Holdens LS1/2 so is familiar with the software, but has yet do do any tuning with it on Fords. Obviously this will be a learning exercise for both myself and my tuner.

I have volunteered my car as a 'test mule' for the new VCM Suite software with my tuner and will be more than happy to share my results with everyone in the coming weeks.

good on ya 'like I said it may take a few guinee cops to get it sorted but there must be other stuff as good or better than sct ,it's what we get for being complacent and not looking for alternatives

I spoke to a few workshops today and I had 1 tell me that they have sold software to racing car teams that will now be locked out due to sct.and they will be unable to tune there cars when there flashes run out...and they paid up 2 $2500.he is now very worried and waiting for a reply

so much of the problem has been solved now...

Herrods and SCT has come up with a solution to support existing Xcal1 boxes.

JUST TO CLARIFY EVERYTHING!

For all of those out there questioning the life-span of the XCal1, this is the news you’ve been more than waiting for!

In previous forum entries, we have noted that what we need is if you have a tune shop that you use, get them to contact Rob or Chris Herrod on +61 3 9464 5100 or email support@sctflashtuning.com so as we can collect of all the information we need as these tuners need to be registered with the Herrod/SCT as of now…

Now, this is the part that should make EVERYONE out there happy.

So long as these tune shops contact us ASAP on the details above, those who do will be able to update the XCal1 for as long as they have customers needing updates... This being said, all new tune sales from here on will need to be done on the X3, as again, components are no longer available to repair the XCal1 or add future years to them.

This I’m sure will put EVERYONE at ease now and prove that there is nothing to be concerned about.

Trading is as normal for your chosen tune-shop and others alike!

Im glad its solved but the reputations of a few companies have gone to mud, either deseverdly or not! Ive read threads and posts on 3 forums about this and from both sides of the story, wasted countless hours and its hard to believe any of it.

I agree completely with you ravenhard but we all make mistakes, hopefully a few people have learnt from their mistakes
