BA_Turbs, phuck the dealer off and ring Ford Customer Service direct to find out what is going on. That is what Ken-24T did, and he knew day-by-day the progress of his vehicle.

Dankman,

I have a Venom XR6T on order through a Melb dealer and was told two weeks ago that the dealer would "have my car Friday", then a couple of days for pre-delivery also.

I got the same line today, that the dealer would have the car Friday, I would have it about Wednesday next week. It's starting to wear thin.

My issue is that the car has supposedly sat in the same place in the production line for the last two weeks (going off your last post, I now assume that to be FPV), but the dealer can't even tell me what the hold up is.

Very, Very frustrating...

I can't understand some dealers. From what I have read in a few places some of them lie concistently about the delivery of a car. That kind of thing pisses me off. I'd rather a dealer telling me the car will be "a few weeks away" or something like that, rather than saying "it'll be here friday" and then it's not here.. Being in the construction industry here in Canberra you start hating companies that crap on about supply deliveries constantly. Maybe one day they'll all learn..

BTW, today I'm going to my dealers to find out if there is a build date for my T ;) Finger crossed they won't be full of crap about my delivery date.

Went into the dealer today to get a delivery date. Asked for the salesman that I am getting the car through... Another salesman tells me "He's on his way back from Fyshwick, he'll be back in about 5 minutes". 35 minutes later I just got pissed off and left the dealership with a cranky look and did a little burn out in my car while leaving in anger... The other salesman should've just said "I don't know when he'll be back". Then I wouldn't have been pissed off for waiting. Oh well, I guess salesman are just full of it.. Even for the little white lies..

Found out what the hold up was, and to the dealer's credit, I dealt with Ford Customer Service and now have some kind of understanding about what they are up against!

Anyway, anyone out there who is "on the verge" of delivery of their turbo will probably find that their car has been at the FPV factory for a little while because there were no front spoilers. A truck full of them arrive today, dunno if the spoilers are moulded in the correct colour or if they get sprayed, but once they are on the car, they will all begin being shipped to dealers over the weekend, so middle to end of next week until the shiney new Turbs is in the driveway.

But KrasH, like you say, I had no issue waiting once actually knew what was going on and the BS from everyone stopped!

Are you sure about the spoiler story ?

My understanding is all XRs are built in the Ford factory.

They only go to FPV for the Turbo plumbing, 18" wheels or Factory sunroofs as far as I know.

Even the photos Ford send you off the end of the production line shows the spolier on there.

I would imagine FPV would only fit spoilers to the GTs & Pursuits.

It might be worth checking.

You guys were right, he did say that the car was stuck at FPV ataiting a shipment of parts. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me what the parts were though.

I spoke to the dealer today, according to his system (as of this morning) the status is into the 'shipping stage' so he rekons that it's this afternoon or tomorrow morning it shows up. YAY then I should be able to pick it up on Tuesday sometime.

Heres hoping *crosses fingers again*

Also spoke to him about the alarm system I'd ordered with it. He said that 'if the doors are tampered with it will go off, but if someone does a smash and grab through the window, it wont.'

So I cancled the ford alarm system and am sorcing one locally instead. This one is quoted as 100 big ones more, but has a shock sensor, so if any one hits the car whilst armed it triggers, and also some sort of radar sensor?!!?!?!? apparenltly you can set 2 zones with it, if any thing moves in the inside zone, it goes off, the second zone you can set up to 2 meters from the car and it warns people to back off.

The only disadvantage is that the standard remotes that come with the car wont work, it has it's own set of remotes.

Do you guys think this would be a good idea?

Sleep counter reset again to 4 more sleeps and another bottle of scotch
