its sad how the minority of 'patriots' spoil it for the rest of us aussies. does not make me feel proud being an aussie when you see sh*t like this going on. and the whole F*** OFF were FULL slogan is pretty disgusting. Some of these fools need a lesson in family history, maybe they're not so Australian as they think they are. This country is built on immigrants so to find a 100% true blue dinky dy AUSSIE would be few and far between.

I don't believe for one second that the date OR name should be changed. This has been our day of celebration for many years and a day that is celebrated by not just the "aussie" race, but all races that live in this country. I live in a very multicultural area, I saw (among others) Italians, lebanese, Indian, pacific islander, irish, english and many more celebrating Australia Day. If it is good enough for them, it is good enough for everyone.

For anyone to even consider a date change is wrong imo, leave it as it is, even if we become a republic I wouldn't want it changed to an "independance day" style holiday. I am happy as it is.

This is farkin stupidity at its best.

Its not an us versus them day which is the current cry. Its a national day of celebrating Australia as a united country. If you dont wish to celebrate with us or you would prefer an alternate day, then be sure to work every Australia day and reject the overtime rates that come along with it.

Why should we change the day just to please less than 2.5% of the population. Why is it that they think we should do whatever they say because they don't agree with it. Its Australia Day, celebrating the whole of Australia, not White Australia(no aboriginals) Day.
