Hi guys,

My brakes are crap. I have just done 7000km in the car and under hard braking it doesn't like to stop. ABS kicks in way too early. My BA brakes felt better then these do. They had DBA 4000, QFM pads and braided lines on the standard as can be BA brakes.

I am putting an order in this week with Race Brakes for Braided lines and I will be flushing the stock fluid out  with good quality fluid, just need to know what every ones experience is with different pads.

Looking for a good balanced pad.

Cheers

Adrian :bopp:

Erm.. if your ABS is kicking in too early that is due to the grip of your tyres against the road being crap... nothing to do with the brakes themselves! So long as the wheel is able to be locked, then the brakes are doing their job!

Get stickier tyres!

So what your saying is that Ford put crap tyres on our cars from factory.........no.

I thought about that too but I would still really like to know of other peoples experiences with pads.

About the ABS... Mine was quite bad, at the FPV track day, the instructor was at the end of the main straight, jumped on the brakes and promptly asked "what the hell is with your brakes?"!

Anyway I fitted the nolathane bush kit for the control arms, and it's a massive improvement. same brakes. ride is noticably harsher on shlte roads, though. :w00t2:

Cheers,

Chris.

The Racebrakes replacement pads they make for the Brembos are your best bet. Someone was telling me he got 20,000ks out of the stock pads, installed the Racebrakes pads and is up to 80,000ks on the same set. I drove over the westgate and bought some the next day lol

How do they perform other than endurance?

I have Ferodo DS2500s in the front and a racebrakes compound in the rear of mine.......no dramas at all, handle track + street fine. Much better than stock.
