I have a late 06 BF series XR6 and wanting to get a new sound system put into it.I am looking to spend around 1.5 K - 2K. I dont know much about all of this so if I sound a bit dumb, bare with me. I usually listen to electro and stuff with a lot of BASS! The speakers that are in there at the moment are just too gutless. Not sure what I would need to make it sound decent? Do I need a headunit etc ? If you guys could give the downlow on some products that you think will make a lot of difference at a reasonable price, it would be appreciated.Hope to hear from you all soonJack

Thanks for the plug, appreciate knowing my long replies on the topic are well accepted and taken into consideration! Thanks PHANM! (and others who have also said things alike over the past)... jackk - sorry smicky is on holidays, ill come help another day... Just joking...Ok 1500-2000$ for a system... Well can be done, but I guess the first thing you need to think about is, are you just after bang for buck? Or something serious? with some good sound quality?Just how LOUD are you planning on wanting the system?BTW if I may ask... how old are you? (remembering my days with a LOUD SYSTEM, duff duff, and tunes from artists like Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren, and all the stuff out of Ministry - and letting everyone else in the streets hear it. If this is what your after it may give me a better idea...) There is some 'good' gear at a price point - will give you a good upgrade for around the 2000 - 2500$...Are you planning on installing yourself or car audio shop? But it will give you some idea of what you may get for around 2400$ which will not be a bad setup...the speakers are just picked as no preference - IMO Pioneer have always produced a good set of splits at a reasonable price. rears are just a average coax for rear back fill - sub is a nice sub for under 400$ and the amps to match..this is literally a 5mins slapped together system, and at no point have a looked into all the component specs etc... however it should be matched well...Oh forgot to add in - bottle of grey goose - 80$, 2 pizza's and a few cans of coke, 1 trip to mcdonalds for a choc sundai, and a 3 yrs suspension to your license for getting court drink driving for being a dumb fark and not getting someone else to drive you to mcdonalds... but hey at least you will have a nice system in your car! hehehe Let me know what you are seriously looking at getting out of the system and I can try to help a bit better...
