The gates stuff comes in foot lengths from Repco. I have heard nothing but trouble about getting it from them. I use a place in Oakleigh in Park st just off the hwy.

R P Wallace and sons

8 Park road

Oakleigh Ph 9563 0000

If they don't have it they get it from NSW office overnight.

Ask for GATES Submersible hose in the foot length.

Why did you take the Thanks away? You ungreatful cahn! lmao only joking.

the old and new hose is too long...

it will split again regardless of what hose you use, submergable or not..

Interestingly, the host that comes in the walbro kits that I use are not rated at as SAE R310 (submergable)..

But I dont know of ANY car ive fitted this kit to ever have any problems, and need to change the pipe...

Envy, Have you got a new pump yet? I'll show you how it needs to be fitted =)

The pics shown are b4 the hose was cut....

We cut the new hose and it could barely fit on the fuel pump so if we cut it any further it would have been good for the recycle bin...

was it cut the same length as the old hose?

Also, I cant stand joined power wires.

I sourced the same crimp fitings which fit into the ford connector, which you crimp onto the Walbro power and push the crimps into the existing ford plug... Rather than cutting and joining them (by soldering, or those walbro provided crimps!)

No, it was cut a few mm less then the old pipe and you can see the difference in the before and after pics...

cheers

Only a few MM?

Dude.. its still about a inch too long =)

When you placed it back in your tank, How hard did you have to push it down to get the screws in??

TBH, It was a reasonable fit. I didnt have to use much force at all?

If I had cut the hose any shorther then it would not have fitted on either end, actually I thought the pipe was a bit short but I guess it worked out to be OK in the end? I got back from a spin and re-checked the hose fittings and to see if the surroundings were leaking but all seemed to be ok for the time being....
