Just saw David Boon eating a meat pie and it got me thinking about Australia Day tomorrow....

He lives just down the road from me and on my home just then saw him getting out of his car (a green Tasmanian Cricket sponsored Territory) smashing a massive meat pie, I swear it was one of those family sized ones, wish I had gotten a picture :fool:

So I was just wondering if anyone else has some "Australian" stories to share for tomorrow or anything good lined up for tomorrow????

Oh and :idunno:

Reason for edit:forgot to cheers....

hehehe - good old boone... where was his VB?

2 yrs back, one of my closest friends BF finally received his Aussie Citizenship dam pommies...

So being the great friend I am... when a did a little shop and put together a bit of a 'Welcome to Australia Pack" for him...

Here is what was in the box... with instructions...

1x Plastic Bucket - ($2 shop) - to wash your car (when we have water and are aloud to)... and when at the beach to build sand castles...

1x Thongs - (Kmart $4 specials) - for those times when heading to the corner shops, backyard, beach, come to think of it - use in all cases where its not raining - WE DO!

1x King Gee BLUE Singlet, complete with authentic holes and seams threading - ($10 Kmart) - Wear this until it falls apart in your hands... Washing the car, back yard cricket, cooking the BBQ, even changing the oil in the XF Falcon, and to show off your manly manly body off to all the sheelas!

1x Footy shorts (Warwick Cappa specials) - ($15 local sports store) - Must be worn while the singlet is on, and even when it is not - days at the beach or in the Murray river swimming... again - special preview for the sheelas!

1x GREATEST AUSSIE BEER SONGS CD - (HMV $15 special) - enough said!

1x Set BBQ tongs and Lifter - ($15 Kmart) - get to work pommy... - Mystery bags and slab of steak - all we need here mate!

1x Plastic Aussie flag - ($5 - Made in china??? WTF) - use at all public events son!

1x Junior cricket batt - ($25 Sports store) - His pommy he already know what to do with this!

1x Fly Squatter - (Coles Supermarket isle 12, $2) - U will find out soon enough... :) target practice...

and the best thing of all -

2x VB Stubbies - ($5 at the local) - drink enjoy with a smile on your face and you can now be called a real aussie!

Here I rock up with all this and man what a massive laugh we got at the Aussie Day ceremony... :idunno: Richard your farking pommy bastard... 2 yrs in and now we will let you marry her...

Your a real true blue aussie now son!

One of the funniest moments I have ever had on any Aussie day... like the good sport he is, whacked on all the gear stubbie in hand and well funny enough already had a BLOODY BEER GUT!!!

Funny funny stuff!!!

:fool:

I cannot get over the number of bogans out and about this weekend.

Must have missed the public announcement about how it's expected to walk the streets with your shirt off, can of beer in the hand, aussie flag (even if it's a free one from BWS) and just generally be a loud and obnoxious tool!

Great to be an Aussie

Im pretty Aussie (gotta love a public holiday for taking over someone elses land lol) but I loathe bandwagons and sticking a couple og flags out your car window for the weekend just makes you a wa*ker. On the way to work this morning I saw one snap off at 100kms lol. That'll teach em

If your that proud, you be flying the flag 24/7 in your front yard like some of us already do.

For me its work followed by a bbq and bourbans at the park between Sorrento surf club and Hillarys Marina. Well kept lawns / bbqs, pretty much dickhead and trouble free, the cops are around most weekend evenings, leaving you alone and turning a blind eye to the countless people enjoying a relaxing coldie (drinking at the beach and surrounding parks is banned here due to issues around Mullaloo etc), can go for a swim and kick the footy with plenty of room!
