The shockwave issue only affected a certain batch of cars when it first came out on the BA2's from what I recall. By BF it was well and truly resolved. I highly doubt you will have any issue.

Ummm.....You guys no about shockwave don't uses?

Lets just say, Don't go near a high presser car wash or gun of any kind.

you jinxed me dude LOL just kiding, but anyways, I had a very small stone chip on the bonnet that has grown to about 10mm x 3 mm over the last couple of weeks, I took it to ford yesterday and they said yep another one, the dude said the paint was crap and he could see the primer through it cause the color was too thin (it always looked ok to me) he then showed me two other places where it was starting and proceed to flick his thumnail on a spot on the top of the drivers door and the paint came straight off, said the whole car will go that way, we went inside the body shop and they had a BF XR6 that had a couple of patches as big as dinner plates peeling off.

anyways he said he will push it through ford and they will be in contact in a couple of days to arrange for the car to come in. It will be stripped back to bare metal and painted properly.

I'm actuall pretty happy as he said the paint will look 10 times better when they do it properly and the only drama is he is saying 4 weeks with no typhoon  only a rental

Hi there,

Funny how Ford responds by saying here’s another one. My brother in-law is getting his car repainted now for the same problem 05 BF. He found out through a friend that he could claim his paint work which was starting to peel in places under warranty. I have a Mercury Silver BF and I must say that this being my first Ford the paint quality is poor. I am concerned that this problem may not only be with Shockwave Blue? You would think in this day and age Ford could paint a car properly!

Cheers Daniel.

I was the proud owner of an XR6T for four years which at the time was the most exciting and exillarating vehicle I had owned until 18 months ago - I bought a new F6 - this is like belonging to an exclusive club - the acknowledgment that you get from GT-P and F6 owners is brilliant - it is a lovely hugely responsive car -and gets those Mazda 6 and Audi owners all psyched up to try and show you what they have - the answer....not a lot! Pete
