Hi,

Cracked the 400kW barrier at Summernats, so I was happy even though I only got 3rd.

Now we're at the limit of the stock turbo, time to crack the engine open and upgrade everything - I could get more but the turbo just cant push any more air, and the stock internals probably wont like it anyway. :)

Thanks guys.

Already underway planning the mods for over 600 rwkw. Have a new ford spare parts block and 2 cranks to play with :)

Well done congrats on the 3rd place, is the 412 close to what you thought you had?

Good to see cars all compared in the correct shootout mode.

what power did 1st and 2nd place make?

I know the guys who took out the n/a V8 Small block class with 497rwkw from there LS1 motor, not bad for no boost..

First place getter was also a dedicated, sponsored drag car, which I am told was running 50+lb of boost and ROO25 Pro-Stock (125 octane, oxygenated) type fuel. It should have been in the demo class, like the GAS motorsport cars (and kudos to them for playing fair). But, not wanting to appear like bad sports, myself and Julian (2nd place in a 550rwkw GTR Skyline) decided not to protest.

If the car comes back next year, I will be having something to say, however. Its meant to be a competition for private car owners who ARENT sponsored... and/or the car is NOT for advertising/promotional purposes - and this is outlined in the rules. Trick & Mansweto were told to remove most of their signage in order to compete a year or 2 ago, so we need consistency. In fairness to the (hp hero dyno comp) organisers, this was their first year at the helm and I felt I didnt need to add to their stress. The usual team should be back next year so I doubt there will be any issues.

Anyway, to answer the other question...

It was actually about 25rwhp more than we got on Chiptorque's Dyno... but that being said we had done a considerable number of full power runs tuning it and the tyres were starting to get real hot and we were struggling to keep traction on the dyno. It was getting late and we didnt have time to let them cool off as we got the tune right. We got held up chasing 2 issues... one was no gains in horsepower despite a number of changes - turned out to be a collapsed catalytic convertor, and the other was a big change in AFR in the top end (going mega rich without being commanded to) - turned out to be the turbo over-temp 'feature' ;) So, by the time all that was sorted it was dark outside.
