Hi guys!

I have a second car on the way, allowing me to put the F6 in the shed and get serious. I am using a local shop (For anyone around Ipswich its "Scott's Rods" at Yamanto - ) for all my work, and they have suggest I go to a t04ze for the turbo, as its slightly bigger than the stock one, and will reach my overall goal of 400+rwkw!

Has anyone seen a t04ze fitted to an XR6T/F6? I read a topic on here about the t04z, and im not sure what the difference is between the two. If its not such a great turbo, what would be a good replacement for around the same dollars?

I will be doing everything including exhaust, plenum, bigger cooler and pipes, injectors, fuel pump etc etc - so keep that in mind.

If you're only going for 400rwkw - you can do that on the stock turbo. Save yourself a few grand by not replacing it. Just a thought........

A mate of my runs that on his Ea turbo...pushing 420rwkw...I know a few guys with the xr6 turbo's running the GT42.XX as an upgrade to their stock turbos.

As exarsixturbo said, 400 is atainable on the stock turbo. If you are going for an external gate you could look at the external gate mod that ETM does, this will give you better boost control and smoother exhaust flow from the turbo into the dump.

If you just wanna nudge the 400rwkw mark go with the stock turbo & get the ETM stage 1 mod. With that, you get the external gate (which you'd need to buy with a TO4z combo anyways) & the added bonus of a high rise manifold :spoton:

If you want 420 - 450 then go TO4ze & 450+ go T51r. Just remember though, as a rule of thumb the bigger the turbo the more lag you get. As these motors don't like to rev hard you get less usable power on the street... If it's gonna be a dyno queen then no need to worry but for a street combo the stock turbo is best!

So now im thinking the standard turbo with the external gate mod, simply for better boost control - what about a changed/modified rear housing on the stock turbo? The front housing is plenty big enough I think?!

Im not sure of anyone that has changed the rear housing (sure there is) but a few people have replaced the front housing witha 0.7a/r front housing. This seems to do the trick for about 430-440rwkw.

had one on a 13bt made made good power 360 hp atw was ok for street car but decided to take it to the next level. Depends what power you are chasing

There is no such turbo as a t04ze, there is a t04z and a t04e but not a t04ze.

Please find out which turbo they are speaking of as the t04z is a good upgrade for 450rwkw maybe a bit more but the t04e is a step backwards from stock.
