Hey guys!

I've seen this topic covered a little bit here and there but havent been able to find any direct answers, so here is my problem I had and how to fix it.

About 3 weeks ago, my turbo started come loose from the manifold, so I had it fixed. What my shop found was that one bolt had completly come out from the turbo to the manifold, and the other 3 were loose. The manifold was also loose on the motor. So, the missing bolt was replaced with another bolt and a second nut was put on to double nut the bolt and hold it tighter!

Then, monday just gone, I heard the sound of the turbo starting to come loose again, so I took the car back and got them to look at it. They found that all 3 of the original bolts were also loose.

They replaced all bolts to the turbo with slightly longer ones, allowing a second nut to be put onto the bolt, to hold the turbo to the manifold with out the risk of the nuts coming loose.

With any luck, this should solve that problem and hopefuly the turbo wont come loose again - for anyone else facing this problem, this is probably the best thing to do, because it took only around 3 weeks for mine to loosen up again, but the one that was replaced didnt come loose at all!

All the best!

Lol, it might not be that bad mate, but also keep an eye on the bolts that hold the front cover of the turbo on, they can come loose too

Yeh my exhaust housing bolts came loose on mine.

Tighened them up but now has just started to leak from somewhere else.

Only notice it when its cold and on boost.

If you drive it steady for 5 mins before giving it some it doesn't do it.

Mine sounds more like a victa, very imbarrassing.

Hopefully will get to it this weekend.

Iam going to try to drill the nuts and use wire to tie then.
