yeah that's what I thought, I think I will just go with the bilsteins, got quoted $1000 front and rear, konis were $1120.

Russ

Probably a bigger margin with the Koni's, hence the suspension shop recommending them. I'd never trust the advice of a shop unless I knew them personally...

I've been in a ute with bilstein's (Adrian6t) and a ute with Koni's (Ford_Esky). The Bilsteins are a much nicer shock, they have a better return bounce due to valving differences & they are cheaper. It's a no-brainer imo :stirthepot:

What are those $8k coilovers Erko?

I fitted Bilsteins at xmas time, my original BF F6 shocks were shagged at 40,000.

The improvement was HUGE.

I personally don`t think ride quality was reduced, on the contrary I beleive it was increased as the car doesn`t want to take off over bumps like it did.

Its just better everywhere, best $1055 I`ve spent.

Spin, I have a xrt6 ba MkII, reading these posts it looks like the Bilsteins are the way to go. Would you be able to let me know what shocks they are and where abouts you got them from? Looks like this is the way I am going to go

Cheers.

well, I must be a bit on my own here.

I have a BA tornado, and fitted bilsteins, valved by Quadrant suspension in Vic, who were recommended to me by some ex rally guys. I'd like to know the differences in valving compared to those who claim significant improvements.

Anyway I would say that the improvement is okay. I had expected more. Also the pre-load on the front springs seems to be a bit more, and now the front sits about 10mm higher, which I don't like.

Anyway if anyone wants a set of BA tornado shocks, lemme know.

Cheers,

Chris.

I will say the low speed ride is a lttle harsher but as soon as you find a corner to throw it around you soon forget about low speed ride quality

and call heasmans in sydney they know what ya need
