Initially filter and full flush and fill with 12ish litres of TQ-95 or what ever the stock stuff is. Then just prior to getting tuned I replaced the filter again and did another full flush and fill with 12ish litres of Penrite ATF Synthetic. Its now changed its name to ATF FM5. Ive also had the line pressure increased during the tune. Mines been holding up perfect since being blueboosted in May 08. Not sure how much this stuff helps, but Im also running a PWR trans cooler. And as mentioned previously, heat is a big killer of these boxes. Its to suit BTR 4 speeds. http://www.penrite.com.au/files/NPYGXEI0P3/ATF%20FM5.pdfThis is what Penrite say about it: "Ford BTR 4 Speed Automatics operating in extreme conditons that normally use ATF 95LE"and"Ford BTR 4 speed automatic transmissions under high heat loads" Edited 20/01/09 07:45 AM by hanra

I better start saving for a rebuild cause like you I havent had a service or done anything to my tranny apart from giving it lots of WOT.I wonder how much a service for the tranny is and who in western sydney does a good job? MercuryXr6Turbo Member 361 Member For: 16y 5m Gender: Male Location: Perth, WA Posted 20/01/09 12:18 PM Share Posted 20/01/09 12:18 PM Firstly sorry to hear the news Dose on the auto... and also for finding your car verged half way down the road... not your week hey! Just about to get my T modded in a few weeks, will be getting the heavy duty PWR trans cooler fitted whilst the front is off when they do the intercooler. Just wondering is there a safe level of power that these 4spds can handle??? Its just my car is on the road everyday for work and such the gearbox does some serious shifting... so need it reasonably reliable and not spitting out autos every 6 months... your comments appreciated guys!
