That will do your boot lid and some of the 'floor' depending on how crazy you go.

I dont know of any that works but just hooking it up!You can play around and open up your head unit, and the controls and work it that way, but defiantly not a easy or something you would do at home with a screw driver and extra bit of cable... SO prob not worth it...A lot of AM HU come with remotes now days anyways, so you may be able to strap one on to the steering wheel... Pioneer are one which most come with remotes (or did when I last looked)... Im know other brands do as well...
boost-kid Member 80 Member For: 16y 6m 5d Posted 02/02/09 12:55 AM Author Share Posted 02/02/09 12:55 AM just another quick one boys, I was looking at a friends headunit the other day,his got a pioneer, 5th one from the top.http://www.pioneer.com.au/Products/Car%20E...%20Players.aspxthis is a fairly good head unit, although it looked way too thick vertically to fit in the tissue box holder. will I have to be making a decision on which headunit to purchase by its thickness?or is there another solution.thanks

You can always modify things to work (within the law).Assuming your talking about the Pioneer 6050UB, it looks 'like' a standard half height DIN unit.So would fit into a normal factory head unit space. (Pioneer are a bit short on specs on the website recently looks like they are changing the product range or something and forgot to tell the web design team).Since you are trying to fit this into the tissue box location, regardless of any unit some remoulding will be required, even if it is just cutting out the back of the holder.Be careful that there is enough air flow in behind and around the headunit if you do install an aftermarket.Best get it done at a shop mate - if your unsure, hate to hear you bought a new HU or stereo and it didnt work cos you blew something up! edit: BTW - this is a thread about sound matting... not head units...
