I managed to get down to the racing yesterday and had a pit pass aswell. Can't believe how loud they are. They bang like cannons nearly every gear change. Makes my FG sound like a festiva, lol. Most impressive is the velocity they come down the front straight as well.

The only disappointment is a lot of places on the track you can't see enough of the cars due to the fencing being too high. It was a struggle to find a good spot to stand around the track. Most people were trying to climb trees, fences, etc to get a good enough view. I understand the fences are for safety but was difficult to see the action. Should be more grandstand seating that doesn't require yet another special pass to sit at.

Spot on Benny, trying to access a decent view of the track was nearly impossible. More seating & more shaded areas are something the organisers should be looking at for next year. But having said the general admission pass was pretty good value for money especially with the 3 live acts last night.

Noticed that in the coverage yesterday, was contemplating heading down next year but am almost convinced to the contrary now after seeing the lack of vantage points. Not sure how they could improve it given the crowd numbers though.

One of the best races in the comp so far in terms of the amount of carnage

Take it you're not going today ducky?

Nah, gave it a miss today. We got a 3 day pass, but after a good case of sunburn yesterday & not really seeing much of the race anyway we decided to catch it on the box today.

Also I couldnt find Pat so I stayed home with the sulks.

Lol, sorry Duckman! didn't manage to find you either...

Totally agree with you guys about vantage points. The track was made for corporate boxes and TV cameras.

Saturday left me pretty bitter as we couldn't see bugger all, got real sunburnt and had no idea what happened aside form Whincup winning the cup so to speak...

Today was alot better though, they had taken down some of the blockades around the run off areas that made visibility much better. We camped out in the main grass area in the center under an umbrella with a table - stayed out of the sun and watched the race on TV, but outside...

Probably won't go again unless I stumble over some corporate tickets!

Are you still with us Steve? That'd almost be enough to push a bloke over the edge :doc1:

I have to say that would have been the best spectator round out of all of them. Certainly all very exciting, if they can keep that up they won't have any trouble with keeping the fans. Hate to see the repair bills though :danceforme:

Only gripe is "Skaife". Yes I know he designed the track, it sunk in the first three hundred farkin times FFS :roflmbo:
