From the information provided in the original post dragr32 I have taken it from the point of view that he is looking for an intercooler to aid his towing, in which any aftermarket cooler will not provide. Any aftermarket intercooler will restrict the air flow to the radiator more than the stock unit. However, as dragr32 has provided us with more info, he has plans for some mods.

BS.

what lead you to this assumption?

There are aftermarket coolers that flow MORE air to the rad than the stock Bar and Plate.. Plazmaman Tube and Fin for example. I have used both on the circuit, and water temps with the Plazmaman cooler are colder than stock after a couple of laps.

Good call, most aftermarket intercoolers will not provide more air flow to your radiator. Still, I think the main stress when you are towing is the gearbox. Having the gearbox cooler intergrated into the raidiator personally whouldnt have been my pick, I would have gone for a stand alone cooler.
