hi guys

in 99.9% of cases it is only the dust cap that has come loose. this is mainly due to sun damaging the glue they stick it on with. just remove the shelf and the security bolts that hold the sub in, peel off the foam gasket and mesh cover and just stick the dust cap back on with some araldite or similar. stick everything back on the top and re-install

most of the shallow subs like the pioneers etc need a few hundred watts RMS to run them and you only have about 80 watts RMS from your factory amp. so its not powerful enough to run much at all.

Mine was rattling at any sort of decent volume and was going to replace it because of this.

Then discovered sicklaser's post and sure enough the dust cap was loose so I just removed it and now I can enjoy my "premium" sound system once again.

I do plan on dynamatting the parcel shelf and probably getting a not-so-expensive sub to replace the weak factory sub in the not so distant future but for the time being this is a good quick fix for me.

Cheers,

Mat J
