No way I would buy a car from that dealer - period, I would not trust them.2. A contract is a contract, they are in default. Read the fine print before you do anything. You would have legal recourse but what the hell? If they treat you that way now imagine what they'll treat you like if you take the car after putting up a stink.3. I bought a Polo for my daughter 2 years ago - no probelms and a great car. VW's are good cars but I'm sorry that sort of arrogance I detest. I'd tell them to shove it and go somewhere else.I test drove an XR5 late last year and boy! is it fun. Bought an FG XR6T with a BF but would luv to have an XR5 for some weekend fun. Good luck but I wouldn't take that s___t! from them. Buying a new car is suppored to be a "good" experience.Cheers

I would have been exploring my legal options as soon as they tried to shove me off another car for more $$..! Theres nothing a well-written letter can't do, I've gotten myself out of a few parking fines, 'Public' fines and also my gem of when my schoolies accomodation tried to raise the price of our stay by $2k AFTER we had paid the non-refundable deposit! Boy did they recieve an absolute ripper of a letter.. Lets just say they stuck by their old prices!I would even print out this very topic and drop it on their desk and tell them that the internet and word of mouth is a very dangerous weapon! All the best! Looking at trading it this year but waiting for MK VI model. Not going for GTI but mrs tigwelder wants the 1.4 TSI model this time. I like Golfs over Ford myself as they dont seem to date as fast.I.B., I think the Germans are getting some of us back because they lost the war.SIEG HEIL
