that's not necessarily a bad deal. Generally I would say that the bonuses would not apply to MY09 vehicles. And really the fact that you were going to buy an 08 build that was MY08 spec, makes an 08 build MY09 spec vehicle better value at the same price. Obviously its not the correct colour for you, but an MY09 will still be worth more than the MY08.

If the colour is acceptable then I would go for it.

Just met with them and the BS continues. They will try with VW head office for the one with leathr seats at no extra cost, though chances are buckly, or we will mutually agree to cancel the contract which I now prefer.

Nate, I thought u said they had contacted VW already and they said NO GO on the leather at the same price?

What the FARK!!

I'm with you, it sucks are you thought you had a new toy coming, and now they arse farked you, but id be walking like you said you now prefer...

Seems to me like you have given them plenty of time and chances to come up with acceptable offers, each time with nothing but more BS...

Sorry to hear all this mate, but I think I would be heading to another dealer, or maybe even off to Pat, or Alto for a XR5! hehehe

MY09 is the wrong colour and with the associated BS where fairly over it all. If its this difficult with this particular dealership and they cant offer what I want then they can jam it. I'm flexible to a point but its past that point.

A junior salesman contacted VW originally and now the buisness manager will make a final call but I cant see it happening. Junior salesman wanted 2k more for the leather option and manager now wants 3k for it so it just gets worse.

The XR5 is a great alternative, maybe even a better car, but the GTi is a seond car in the house for someone else, so I dont get all the say. And the no cruise control option is plain nuts, when it seems to have everything else.

Tell them they just lost a sale and you will now go to another manufacturer, plus you will also bad mouth them to anyone with ears.

What they offered you is a joke. I bet you they knew they didn't have any in the color and spec you wanted, they just wanted your signature so they could palm another vehicle off onto you.

I agree what a joke mate, they should be doing everything they can to get the sale not everything they can to screw you around.

PULL THE PIN MATE.

This I believe as well. I dont think they ever had the stock available and they knew this. They have done nothing but try to give me a car I dont want, which says to me that these cars are the ones they already have in stock. It makes sense in this difficult sales climate to sign you up to something they dont have and then do everything possible to off-load to you a car they do have.

Seriously considering making this a fair trading issue, regardless if the deal falls though or not.
