I suspect much of the discounting, general state of the economy notwithstanding, was because quite frankly most dealers needed to keep the bank at bay over the Christmas break!I got employee pricing and Ford was offering additional incentives for December order/deliveries ONLY.I've stopped looking at prices since I bought mine so if anyone else has seen them they're probably better qualified to comment but not sure there'd be much cheaper than that going round! He said then that would be the best price I would get under any circumstances - sounds like he was right.

I would have to say most are full of B/S even if it was your best mate.I'd say prices are only going to get better the worse the economy gets. I see that Expensive Daewoo are doing 30% off RRP on some models but it seems Ford are trying their best to avoid lowering prices.

How can you last that long??!!2. If you keep waiting because "it's only going to get cheaper"... yes it probably will (EVENTUALLY!) but by the time it does, a new model will be on the way with probably more power etc. Suddenly you'll then want the new one, and so the cycle continues. My advice: Just take the plunge and start enjoying your new toy already! Posted 15/01/09 11:18 AM Share Posted 15/01/09 11:18 AM I bought a demo last week in Melbourne and paid $48,900 on the road with 10k on the clock.List price not including on road costs etc was around 42k.I reckon that is an absolute bargain and that is why I bought now. I don't have any friends who work for dealers or access to any different pricing arrangements.Jack
blackg6e Member 6 Member For: 15y 10m 7d Posted 16/01/09 01:55 AM Share Posted 16/01/09 01:55 AM Tough choice. The cars will have identical drivelines (minus LSD on the G6ET), will be almost identical from the inside (you get a few additions and better finishes on the G6ET). I guess it just comes down to exterior styling which is a personal choice. I don't think depreciation is going to be an issue- I think the turbo's hold their value and G6ET will be a cult car as much as the XR6T will be.The decision was made for me. I got a ripper deal on my G6ET car due to 1) Ford employee discount price and 2) It was an 08 plated car. Because the car was built I had no choice in options- whatever they had in stock was what I could get. So the decision was easier between a stock XR6T or a G6ET (G6ET clearly).
